Produced by Mas Martinet Viticultors, the wine Martinet Bru the younger brother of the mighty Clos Martinet.
This single vineyard Spanish red wine is made from Grenache, Hairy Grenache and Syrah, all of them planted in a plot called Mas Torrent, near the town of Falset, at the heart of DOQ Priorat. The soil is composed of tiny pieces of slate, the well-known llicorella, which gives the wine both freshness and an earthy, mineral character.
Produced by Josep-Lluís Pérez, who takes care of the vineyards, and his daughter Sara Pérez, responsible for crafting the wine, the grapes were harvested by hand and fermented in wooden vats with only a slight contact with the skins.
After that, the red wine Martinet Bru 2022 was aged in 4,000-litre vats and in 300-litre French oak barrels (2nd, 3rd and 4th year) for over a period of 18 months.
This delightful red wine from Priorat was neither clarified nor filtered prior to its bottling, so it may contain some natural sediment.
We suggest that you decant this organic red wine a minimum 1 hour before your drink it.
Appearance | The red wine Martinet Bru is medium purple with a bluish hue on the rim. |

Nose | Showing a trademark Priorat character, this blend of Grenache, Hairy Grenache and Syrah smells of liquorice, blackberries, rosemary, mineral notes, hints of blue flowers and some balsamic touches. Delicate hints of cocoa, toffee and roasted coffee. |
Palate | Ripe blackberries, aromatic herbs and an evocative mineral background comined with distinctive remembrances of fennel. Concentrated and dense, but also fresh, layered and sharp, conveying a real sense of place. This wine from Mas Martinet has some savoury tannins, a great acidity and a long, enticing mineral aftertaste. |
Our personal opinion | Complex but approachable, bold but inviting, the wine Martinet Bru 2022 explains why Priorat has achieved world recognition. |
