Red Wine Mas de Can Blau 2020
Availability: In stock
This is the new vintage of the wine Mas de Can Blau from DO Montsant. This Spanish red wine is produced by the Can Blau winery, one of the brands of the Gil Family Estates.
A blend of Carignan (Cariñena), Syrah, and Grenache coming from small vineyards that have very different soils and micro-terroirs throughout the Montsant region, which provides for a very complex wine.
The harvest was carried out by hand and the grapes were meticulously selected at the vineyards.
Each grape variety received a separate vinification process in stainless-steel vats. Subsequently, the wine Mas de Can Blau 2020 was transferred into French oak barrels, where it completed malolactic fermentation and was aged for 18 months.
Finally, this Crianza red wine was aged for several years in the bottle before its commercial release.
Aerate this vegan red wine from Montsant some time before drinking.
Appearance | The wine Mas de Can Blau is deep purple with scarlet edges. |
---|---|
Nose | Ripe black fruit, alongside creamy vanilla and cinnamon and pinch of spices (pepper). This blend of Carignan, Grenache and Syrah has some toasted notes that become more enticing and marked with time. There are also earthy hints, intertwined with Cuban cigar aromas, cocoa and some earthy and mineral nuances. |
Palate | This strong and full-bodied wine of Can Blau, but also very fresh. Juicy red fruit, some creamy oak ageing notes, remembrances of flowers, spices, lavender, and deep mineral undertones. Very good acidity, bold tannins, and long finish with a note of resin, blue flowers and fresh balsam. |
Our personal opinion | The wine Mas de Can Blau 2020 is powerful and age-worthy. Enjoy it with hearty dishes, and be sure to decant it. |
