Details
The flagship product of the Martí Fabra winery, the wine Masia Carreras is born in the Catalan-French border, along the southern foothills of the Pyrenees.
A varietal Carignan, this Spanish red wine from L'Empordà is mainly produced from vines 50 to 80 years of age, and also from over 100-year-old vines planted soon after phylloxera. The vines grow in poor soils composed of slate and granitic sand.
Manually harvested, the grapes first went through a long maceration with the skins.
After completing alcoholic fermentation, the red wine Masia Carreras 2021 was aged in underground concrete vessels for 9 months. Then it was aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.
Finally, this red wine from l'Empordà was aged for some time in the bottle before hitting the market.
Decant this Crianza red wine a minimum of 2 hours before drinking.
