Red Wine Masía Serra Aroa 2022
Availability: In stock
A varietal Grenache, the wine Masia Serra Aroa is made by the family-run winery Masia Serra in the heart of L'Empordà.
Planted in 1961, the vineyards are located in Cantallops, a village near the Catalan-French border constantly swept by a harsh, implacable northern wind called Tramuntana. The area is rugged, dry and characterful.
First, the grapes were harvested by hand and carefully selected in the vineyard. Then this Spanish red wine was fermented and macerated in stainless steel tanks.
Finally, the wine Masía Serra Aroa 2022 was aged for 12 months in French oak barrels from Allier.
It is important to decant this Crianza red wine at least 30 minutes before drinking.
Pair this red wine from L'Empordà with meat recipes and hearty rice dishes.
Appearance | The red wine Masia Serra Aroa is deep ruby with a garnet rim. |

Nose | This varietal Grenache definitely has individual character. It is rather different, for instance, from those produced in Priorat. Ripe redcurrants and raspberries, some spicy and sweet nuances, a distinctive note of dry earth and flowers, and hints of balsam and lavender. A very expressive organic red wine. |
Palate | Medium-bodied, very fresh and humming with energy, this red wine from Masia Serra is quite pure and deeply mineral. The wine still feels quite young, though, showing potential for improvement. Finish is very long, with some smokey and mineral remembrances. |
Our personal opinion | Born in the windswept hills of L'Empordà, the red wine Masia Serra 2022 is a very appealing wine. |
