Red Wine Mauro VS 2021
Availability: In stock
Produced by top level winemaker Mariano García, the prestigious red wine Mauro VS is a varietal Tempranillo made from grapes sourced from two vineyards, Traspinedo and El Rosal, in the VT Castilla y León region.
Located near Tudela de Duero, the organically farmed vineyards are in the process of transitioning to biodynamic farming,
Harvested in the second week of September, the grapes were selected on site and on arriving at the cellar. Then this Spanish red wine from Bodegas Mauro was fermented and macerated with indigenous yeasts, separating the grapes according to its plot of origin.
After that, the wine Mauro VS 2021 was aged in French oak barrels for 26 months. It was aged for 6 months in the bottle before being released onto the market.
If properly stored, this organic red wine will improve in your home cellar for quite some time.
Decant Mauro Vendimia Seleccionada at least 1 hour before drinking.
50,090 bottles produced.
Appearance | The red wine Mauro VS Vendimia Seleccionada is medium purple with a garnet rim. |

Nose | Deeply mineral and ever-evolving, with deep aromas of wild berries and amarena cherries, with hints of cocoa, Havanna cigars, pepper, moka... This varietal Tempranillo also smells of underbrush and balsam, enlivened by a splash of liquorice. |
Palate | Imposing and powerful at first, the palate of VS of Bodegas Mauro soon dispels any suspicion of being overblown. There is elegance and intrincacy here, though this wine of Mariano García has not reached its peak yet. Succulent fruit, in harmony with wood, with hints of aromatic herbs, and a mineral tip. Lively acidity, yummy tannins and exceptionally long finish. |
Our personal opinion | Deep and age-worthy, the red wine Mauro VS 2021 is absolutely superb. |
