The wine Merum Priorati Destí is produced by bodega Merum Priorati, the brand of Pere Ventura Family Wine States in DOQ Priorat.
This Vi de Vila (Village Wine) de Porrera is a blend of basically Grenache and Carignan, with some Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines are planted on steep slate slopes that meet all the requirements of the so-called heroic viticulture, as defined by the Cervim association.
The grapes were hand-picked and fully destemmed, after which this Crianza red wine from Priorat was fermented in stainless steel tanks. Once pressed and drawn-off, this Spanish red wine was transferred into new and used 500-litre French oak barrels, where this vegan wine went through malolactic fermentation and was aged for 12 to 14 months.
Bottled unfined and unfiltered, the red wine Merum Priorati Destí 2021 was kept in the cellar for a substantial period of time before its commercial release.
Decant this Crianza red wine 2 hours before drinking.

Nose | Impressive depth, with an endearing minerality and lively notes of herbs de Provence and garrigue intertwined with exquisite forest berries. This blend of Grenache, Carignan, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon also suggests aniseed and fennel, with a dash of exotic spices. |
Palate | This vegan red wine of Merum Priorati winery is polished and self-assured, with powdery tannins, a superb acidity and precise definition. The rugged Priorat soul is conveyed here in a suave manner, with a refined spicy edge to the berry fruit and a very long finish with a balsamic and smokey aftertaste. |
Our personal opinion | The wine Merum Priorati Destí 2021 is a remarkably deep and poised Priorat red. |
