Cava Mestres Coquet Gran Reserva Brut Nature 2019
Availability: In stock
The excellent Cava Mestres Coquet Gran Reserva Brut Nature is produced by bodega Mestres, based in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, Penedès, since 1312.
Made from a blend of the three traditional Cava varieties, Macabeo, Xarel·lo and Parellada, 40% of the grapes come from estate vineyards with clay and limestone soils over 50 years of age, while the rest comes from 25-year-old vineyards.
Alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks. Then this Cava Gran Reserva Brut Nature completed secondary fermentation in the bottle, after which it was aged for a minimum period of 48 months.
No sugar was added to the Cava Mestres Coquet Gran Reserva Brut Nature 2019 after the disgorgement, the date of which is printed on the back label.
This versatile Spanish sparkling wine will perfectly match a full course dinner.
Appearance | The Cava Mestres Coquet Gran Reserva is pale straw with some greenish tinges. |

Nose | Elegant and understated, this blend of Macabeo, Xarel·lo and Parellada suggests aromas of white fruit, citrus and aniseed, underpinned by notions of green apples and toasted hazelnuts. |
Palate | Showing a remarkable finesse, this Brut Nature from bodega Mestres is smooth-textured, fresh and discreetly energetic. Nice acidity, tiny bubbles, and long, slightly bitter finish with remembrances of lemon zest and aromatic herbs. |
Our personal opinion | The sparkling wine Mestres Coquet Gran Reserva 2019 proves that some noteworthy wine are still being produced under the much maligned Cava name. |
