Produced by Luberri-Familia Monje Amestoy, Monje Amestoy Reserva is an characterful Spanish red wine from DOCa Rioja.
It is made from 90% Tempranillo, complemented with a 10% of other red varieties, sourced from vineyards 35 years old on average.
Hand-harvested during the first half of October, the grapes were meticulously selected on site and on arriving at the premises. Then they went through an 18-day maceration before fermenting in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature.
After that, this red wine from La Rioja was transferred into used American oak and Allier oak barrels (50%-50%), where it was aged for 16 months.
Finally, Monje Amestoy Reserva 2017 was bottled and further aged for 20 months before hitting the market.
