Red Wine Morca Garnacha 2019
Crianza red wine from Campo de Borja. Varietal Grenache aged for 20 months in French oak barrels.
Availability: In stock
Made from old, low-yielding Grenache vines, Morca Garnacha is a noteworthy Spanish red wine produced by Bodegas Morca, a brand of Gil Family Estates.
The vineyards are located on the sides of the Moncayo mountain range, in DO Campo de Borja. The area has very cold winters and blisteringly hot summers. The Cierzo, a cold north wind, blows constantly throughout the year.
Traditionally vinified, the hand-harvested grapes were fermented under controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. Each plot of grapes was individually vinified. After that, Morca Garnacha 2019 was transferred into French oak barrels, where it underwent malolactic fermentation and was aged for 20 months.
Finally, the best samples were blended and bottled. This Crianza red wine rested for a short period of time in the cellar before its commercial release.
Pair this limited production Grenache wine with game dishes, cured cheese, cold cuts and stews.
Appearance | The red wine Morca Garnacha is deep ruby with a purple rim. |
---|---|
Nose | This is a remarkably deep varietal Grenache. More sensous than austere, though, with lively aromas of dried cherries, strawberry candy, dry earth, cedar and tobacco over a mineral and balsamic background. |
Palate | This is a bold red wine from Bodegas Morca. Ripe and concentrated, with layers upon layers of fruit and luxurious spices, ripe tanins and a top-notch acidity. Very long finish with an earthy and balsamic aftertaste. |
Our personal opinion | A noteworthy Grenache, Morca Garnacha 2019 will captivate the lovers of this yummiest of Spanish varieties. |
