Red Wine Muga Crianza 2021
Availability: In stock
The red wine Muga Crianza is a all-time Rioja classic produced by Bodegas Muga. Despite its name, it could well be considered a Reserva because of its long ageing process.
This elegant Spanish red wine from La Rioja is a blend of Tempranillo and Grenache, plus a 10% of Mazuela (Carignan) & Graciano.
After the harvest, the grapes were destemmed, macerated, and fermented in wooden tanks using indigenous yeasts. Then this Crianza red wine was aged for 22 months in 20% American and 80% French oak barrels built in the winery cooperage.
Finally, the wine Muga Crianza 2021 was clarified with egg whites and aged for a further 9 months prior to its commercial release.
Decant this red wine from La Rioja 30 minutes before drinking.
Appearance | Bright and clean, Muga Crianza is medium ruby with a purplish rim. |

Nose | Clean and expressive, this blend of Tempranillo, Grenache, Mazuela and Graciano carries loads of red fruit, a touch of aniseed and fennel, and some smokey and balsamic nuances, as well as hints of coffee, leather and toast. |
Palate | This is a purebred Rioja Crianza. Smooth, long and detailed, with an excellent acidity and a nice balance between fruit and oak. This wine of Bodegas Muga has a delicate mineral background and a long finish with remembrances of toast and wild berries. |
Our personal opinion | This is an exemplary, utterly satisfying Rioja red wine. Just pop a bottle and enjoy Muga Crianza 2021. |
