Details
An interesting Spanish red wine produced by Meritxell Pallejà, Nita offers a fresh take on world-famous DOQ Priorat.
It is made from Grenache, Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. The grapes come from a 2-hectare organically farmed vineyard with slate and clay soils.
Harvested by hand, the grapes were destemmed and cold macerated prior to fermentation.
After fermenting and macerating in stainless steel tanks, Nita 2021 was aged for a period of 8 months.
Gently clarified, this red wine from Priorat was then aged for a further 12 months in the cellar before its release.
Decanting of this Crianza red wine is advisable, though not indispensable.

| Palate | Freshness is the word here. This wine of Merixell Pallejà is exceedingly drinkable and inviting, with delicious notes of red berries, blue flowers, garrigue and minerality. Crisp and linear, with a great acidity and a long finish. |

This is my cup of tea. A Priorat with no oak, fresh as a daisy. I wish more producers would follow this path.
