Product Description
Details

The wine Nunci Negre is produced by Celler Mas de les Pereres, the wine project of Belgian Dirk Hoet in DOQ Priorat.

This blended Spanish red wine is made from the following varieties: Grenache, Mazuela (better known in Priorat as Carignan), Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, all of which come from vines grown in llicorella (slate) soils using minimal intervention techniques.

Hand-picked and carefully selected, each variety was individually vinified in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature.

After that, this red wine from Priorat was transferred into new, 2nd and 3rd year French oak barrels.

Then the wine Nunci Negre 2017 was aged for 12 months. Finally, it was stored in the cellar for a minimum of 5 years (!!) before being released onto the market.

Pair this Crianza red wine with oily fish recipes and meat dishes.

Aerate some time before drinking.

Appearance

The red wine Nunci Negre is medium purple with a ruby-coloured rim.

Nose

This blend of Grenache, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Mazuela (Carignan), Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon is complex and nuanced. Red berries and crème de cassis, with a note of flowers and graphite and some smokey and toasted nuances.

Palate

Classy and flavourful, this wine from Celler Mas de las Pereres exhibits remarkable balance and elegance, with polished tannins, a steely acidity and excellent fruit underpinned by some mineral and balsamic notes. Gently toasted finish with a spicy aftertaste.

Our personal opinion

Complex and elegant, the wine Nunci Negre 2017 is the embodiment of a terroir-driven wine.
