The interesting white wine Nus del Terrer Blanc is made by Vinyes del Terrer winery, a not-so-well- known winery from DO Tarragona.
A rare varietal Sauvignon Blanc from Catalonia, this Spanish white wine is entirely sourced from a 1- hectare vineyard planted 20 years ago in the village of Vila-Seca, Tarragona, at a mere 2 kilometres from the Mediterranean Sea. The vineyard has a clay-limestone soil peppered with marine fossils (known as lumaquel·la soil) which is responsible for the lovely salinity and stylish minerality of this organic white wine from Tarragona.
After a manual harvest, the non-destemmed grapes went through a direct pressing before being fermented in stainless steel tanks. After that, the white wine Nus del Terrer Blanc 2020 was aged for 10 months in a 1,800-litre concrete egg and a 500-litre French oak barrel.
Finally, this Crianza white wine from Tarragona was bottled following the lunar calendar.
