A modern-style Rioja, Orben is produced by Bodegas Orben, a brand of grupo Artevino (owner of Bodegas Vetus, Bodega Izadi and Finca Villacreces.)
Virtually a varietal Tempranillo, this Spanish red wine is sourced from 79 small parcels composed of sandy-limestone soils and planted between 1945 and 1954 in the heart of La Rioja Alavesa. It is complemented with a 3% Graciano.
Harvested by hand, the grapes were meticulously selected, destemmed and fermented in stainless steel tanks.
Malolactic fermentation was carried out in tanks and oak barrels. After that, Orben 2020 was aged for 14 months in new and 2nd year French oak barrels (50/50).
Finally, this red wine from La Rioja was clarified, filtered and aged for 1 more year after being bottled in April 2022.
Aerate this Crianza red wine 1 hour before drinking.

| Palate | This red wine from Bodegas Orben has a meaty body sustained by a crisp acidity. Intense notes of red and black fruit, remembrances of balsam, menthol and garrigue and dim toasted and mineral nuances. This red wine has some mild tannins and a long, toasted finish. |
| Our personal opinion | Both powerful and drinkable, Orben 2020 is simply delightful. Be sure to aerate it 1 hour before drinking. |

less oak is ok
New-style Rioja. I found this less oaky and more fruit-driven than usual. Cool label. Very good.

Sense títol
very nice wine but I personally don't buy expensive wine as there are many good wine's for half the price. This was a gift of 6 bottles and I am on my first glass of the first bottle. It does pack a punch and will be excellent with red meat. Slante'!
