Red Wine Pago de Carraovejas Cuesta de las Liebres 2018
Availability: In stock
This is the new vintage of Pago de Carraovejas Cuesta de las Liebres, one of Ribera del Duero's most exclusive Spanish red wines.
A varietal Tinto Fino, this single vineyard red wine is made from grapevines planted at an altitude of 850 metres on the Cuesta de las Liebres vineyard (which translates as "The Hares Slope").
Harvested by hand, after being selected on site and in the cellar the grapes were destemmed and slightly crushed before fermentation, which took place in little oak vats.
After that, this Reserva red wine from bodega Pago de Carraovejas was aged for 24 months in French oak barrels. After being clarified with egg whites, it was bottled in the spring of 2021.
Finally, Pago de Carraovejas Cuesta de las Liebres 2018 was aged for a further 12 months in the bottle before its commercial release.
This high-end red wine from Ribera del Duero is only produced in exceptional vintages.
Decant at least 1 hour before drinking.
Appearance | The red wine Pago de Carraovejas Cuesta de las Liebres is medium ruby with a violet rim. |

Nose | Deep and showing real finesse, this varietal Tinto Fino suggests amazingly pure aromas of red fruit, fine leather, balsam, Havanna cigars and dry fruit, underpinned by some intringuing earthy and mineral remembrances, hints of flowers and a note of bitter cocoa and underbrush. Impressively refined. |
Palate | Clean, focused and enticingly warm, with caressing tannins and a crisp, precise adidity. This wine from Pago de Carraovejas is immensely long and suggestive, with an aftertaste of ripe fruit, toast and balsam. |
Our personal opinion | Already a legend, Pago de Carraovejas Cuesta de las Liebres 2018 is a wine that every serious wine aficionado should drink at least once in a lifetime. |
