Availability: In stock
A varietal Prieto Picudo, the wine Pardevalles Gamonal comes from Tierra de León, the northern Spanish region where the variety originated.
The grapes are sourced from 34 hectares of estate vineyards located in the south of the León province. They are planted in poor, rocky soils in an area with huge temperature contrasts between daytime and nighttime.
Harvested by hand and partially destemmed, the grapes were first macerated for 4 days. Then this Spanish red wine of Viñedos y Bodega Pardevalles was fermented in truncated cone-shaped vats.
After that, the wine Pardevalles Gamonal 2022 was aged in 60% French and 40% American oak barrels for 12 months stored in an underground cellar over 300 years of age.
Decant this Crianza red wine 30 minutes before drinking.
Pair this red wine from León with hearty meat recipes.
Appearance | The red wine Pardevalles Gamonal is deep purple with a garnet rim. |

Nose | Intense and mildly rustic, with notes of ripe black fruit, blue flowers and a touch of aromatic herbs. As this Prieto Picudo wine opens, there appear creamy hints of spices, toffee, coffee and toast over a liquorice background. |
Palate | Showing a well-defined varietal character, this wine from Bodegas y Viñedos Pardevalles is meaty, gently tannic and fresh. Fruit is delicious, and finish is persistent, with an earthy and balsamic aftertaste. |
Our personal opinion | The characterful wine Pardevalles Gamonal 2022 is a great introduction to the promising Prieto Picudo variety. |
