Red Wine Plaer 2021
Availability: In stock
True to its name, the wine Plaer (pleasure) conveys the intimate satisfaction winelovers feel when we encounter a Spanish red wine that express a true sense of place.
It is produced in Priorat by Albert Jané, owner and head winemaker of Acústic Celler.
It is made mostly from Carignan, complemented with some Grenache, both coming from 40 to 60-year-old vines grown in steep slopes with slate soils. Altitudes of the plots go from 350 to 650 metres above sea level, all with different sun orientations.
Harvested by hand, the grapes were traditionally vinified. Then, the wine Plaer 2021 was aged for 12 months in 2nd year French oak barrels.
After that, this Crianza red wine was aged for some months in the bottle before hitting the market.
Decant this organic red wine 2 hours before drinking.
This is a small-batch red wine from Priorat.
Appearance | The red wine Plaer is deep ruby with some violet tinges. |
---|---|
Nose | After some aeration, this blend of Carignan and Grenache displays aromas of warm stones, jammy black fruit, cocoa powder, Mediterranean underbrush, some nuances of violets and roses, and some deep mineral, earthy and smokey remembrances. |
Palate | Complex and utterly characteristic, this red wine of Acústic Celler expresses a deep sense of place and the uniqueness of Priorat's terroir. Mineral and earthy remembrances, pure notions of red and black fruit, a dash of blueberries and cocoa and hints of flowers and spices. Bold tannins that will mellow over time, zippy acidity and long, complex finish. |
Our personal opinion | Still in the making and with some of room for growth, the wine Plaer 2021 embodies the true spirit of Priorat. |
