Produced by the legendary Maison Pol Roger – incidentally, Winston Churchill’s favourite Champagne brand – the Champagne Pol Roger Réserve Brut is an equal blend of the three main varieties of AOC Champagne: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, sourced from 30 different vineyards.
The Pinot Noir, which provides the structure, comes from Crus located in Montagne de Reims. The Pinot Meunier, bringing freshness, is sourced from Crus in the Vallée de la Marne and Épernay. The Chardonnay, which adds aromatic elegance and complexity to this Non-vintage Champagne, is sorted from Crus in Côte des Blancs.
Each vineyard was individually vinified. After a gentle pressing and two settlings, the wine musts completed alcoholic fermentation at a low temperature, and then each one of them went through malolactic fermentation before the final blending of this NV Champagne brut reserve.
After completing secondary fermentation in the bottle, the Champagne Pol Roger Réserve Brut was aged for 4 years in the underground caves. After being disgorged, this French champagne was kept for a minimum of 3 months in the cellar before hitting the market.
