Availability: In stock
The elegant red wine Preludio de Sei Solo from DO Ribera del Duero is the second bottling of bodega Sei Solo Bodegas y Viñedos.
Crafted by the prestigious oenologist Javier Zaccagnini, this varietal Spanish red wine is sourced from low-yielding Tempranillo vineyards located in the villages of La Horra, Gumiel de Izán and Moradillo. Some of the vines are young, but most are 60 to 100 years old.
Each plot of grapes was separately harvested and meticulously selected. Once in the cellar, the grapes were refrigerated, destemmed and gently crushed before fermenting with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks. The extraction of colour and tannin was very gentle throughout the process.
After that, this Crianza red wine completed malolactic fermentation in the tanks and in 2nd year French oak barrels. Finally, the red wine Preludio de Sei Solo 2020 was aged for 18 months in 228, 300, 500 and 600-litre French oak barrels, new and used. It was bottled unfiltered.
Pair this Ribera del Duero red wine with meat dishes.
Aerate 1 hour before drinking.
Appearance | The red wine Preludio de Sei Solo is deep ruby with a garnet rim. |

Nose | The know-how of world-class winemaker Javier Zaccagnini clearly shows here. This varietal Tempranillo is subtle, nuanced and inviting, with lively aromas of blackcurrants, damson and dried cherries, underscored by dim notes of licorice, spices and tobacco, with some mineral overtones and hints of tree bark and pine needles. |
Palate | Again, this wine of Sei Solo Bodegas y Viñedos is textured and impressively balanced. Tannins and firm and smooth, and acidity is excellent. Finish is long and fresh, with a note of ripe black fruit, forest herbs, dry earth and spices. |
Our personal opinion | A compelling Ribera, the red wine Preludio de Sei Solo 2020 captivates for its elegance and subtlety. |
