Product Description
Details

As the name of this Spanish white wine suggests ("lento" means "slow"), Ramón do Casar Lento was produced from grapes that were harvested slightly overripen. The meticulous elaboration process was supervised by the talented oenologist Pablo Estévez.

A varietal Treixadura, this Galician white wine was produced from estate vineyards sitatued on the banks of the Miño River, in DO Ribeiro.

Picked up by hand and selected on site and in the premises of the Ramón do Casar winery, the grapes were destemmed and macerated with the skins for several hours. Then Ramón do Casar Lento 2019 was fermented on its lees in stainless steel tanks.

The late harvested grapes give this Ribeiro white wine a remarkably original character.

Only 660 bottles produced.

Appearance

The white wine Ramón do Casar Lento is medium yellow with some golden tinges.

Nose

This varietal Treixadura smells of raisins, candied white fruit and dried rose petals. There is a note of honey and chamomile tea, and some toasted remembrances on the background.

Palate

Palate-coating and extremely moreish, this Galician white is surprisingly dry and intensely fresh. This wine of bodega Ramón do Casar has an uplifting finish, with fruit, flowers and honey lingering for a long time on the palate.

Our personal opinion

Exquisitely crafted, Ramón do Casar Lento 2019 will pair excellently with creamy cheeses and foie.
