Coming from La Rioja, the wine Remelluri Reserva is produced under the supervision of Telmo Rodríguez, one of Spain's top winemakers.
This Spanish red wine is made from Tempranillo, Grenache and Graciano, sourced from vines grown in poor, sandy-limestone soils. Climate is mainly continental with an Atlantic influence.
As for the agricultural practices, the bodega Granja Ntra. Sra. de Remelluri follows organic and biodynamic procedures. It was one of the very first in La Rioja to do so.
Manually harvested and selected at the vineyard and in the cellar, the grapes were macerated and fermented in stainless steel tanks and open oak vats using only indigenous yeasts. The malolactic fermentation of this Reserva red wine took place in barrels of different origins and capacities.
Once malolactic was completed, the wine Remelluri Reserva 2016 was aged in those same barrels for 21 months. Finally, this organic red wine was bottled in May 2019 and aged for a minimum of 42 months before its commercial release.

Nose | Notes of sweet spices and toast, slowly evolving into aromas of black and red fruit. This blend of Tempranillo, Grenache and Graciano also suggests some notions of vanilla, dark chocolate and tobacco, with some earthy underpinnings. |
Palate | Round and in full command of itself, this wine from Granja Ntra. Sra. de Remelluri enters the palate gently, conveying flavours of wild berries, undergrowth, balsam, eucalyptus, withered leaves and wet earth. Powdery tannins, balanced acidity and a long, balsamic finish. |
