Winemaker Antonio Cajide, head of Adega Sameirás from DO Ribeiro, presents the wine Sameirás Tinto, that showcases the distinctive character of Galician red wines.

A blend of Sousón, Caíño, Brancellao and other local varieties, this Spanish red wine is sourced from a single vineyard with schist and granite soils. The plot is planted with 25 to 80-year old vines and located in a wooded area with a humid climate and mild temperatures throughout the year.

The hand-picked grapes were sorted and all the varieties were fermented together – as it was traditionally done in the area – under controlled temperature. After completing the process, the red wine Sameirás Tinto 2018 was kept for several years in the cellar before hitting the market.

It is worth noting that this red wine from DO Ribeiro was not aged in oak.
