Produced by Vermuteria de Galicia, a young winery located in the village of Padrón, Rías Baixas, the vermouth St. Petroni Branco is made from a base wine of Albariño, sourced from local vineyards and aged on lees for some time.
After that, this white vermouth was slowly macerated with a traditional formula of 29 local botanicals, including the famous Padrón (or Herbón) pepper, a variety native to Padrón, Galicia, very rarely used in vermouth formulas.
This Galician vermouth is straw coloured with some greenish reflections. The nose of the vermouth St. Petroni Branco is quite original, with interesting mineral notes, a leesy remembrance and aromas of citrus, herbs and sweet spices. The palate of this Spanish white vermouth is complex and smooth, with a citrusy edge to the spicy core, a moderate sweetness enlivened by some bitter intimations and a long ending with an aftertaste of ginger, cinnamon and clove.
