The vermouth St. Petroni Vermello is interesting for several reasons. Firstly, this Spanish red vermouth is the only vermouth made from a base Albariño wine, sourced from vineyards located in the village of Padrón, in the Rías Baixas area, and subsequently aged on lees to enhance its texture.
Produced by the Vermutería de Galicia winery, this Galician vermouth was then carefully macerated with a traditional formula composed of 29 botanicals, such as wormwood, rosemary, thyme, lemon verbena, mint, laurel, sage and lemon balm, as well as bitter and sweet orange, lemon peel, chamomile and hibiscus.
Deep ruby with some reddish reflections, this Galician red vermouth carries subtle aromas of sweet spices, candied citrus and bitter herbs, underpinned by notes of flowers, cream and vanilla. The palate of the vermouth St. Petroni Vermello is fresh, complex and structured, showing a nice bitter-sweet balance and a long finish with a spicy twist.
