Product Description
Details

A blend of Grenache and Carignan, Terroir al Límit Històric homages the nine villages which constitute what is known as the "Historical Priorat"; namely, Bellmunt, Gratallops, La Morera del Montsant (which includes Escaladei), El Lloar, Poboleda, Porrera, Torroja, La Vilella Alta and La Vilella Baixa.

Produced by Terroir al Límit, this Spanish red wine from DOQ Priorat is made from 35 to 50-year-old vines, grown in slate, granite and clay soils, and farmed following the principles of biodynamic agriculture.

Harvested by hand, the whole bunches fermented spontaneously in concrete tanks with indigenous yeasts. No pump-overs or stirrings were performed, in order to obtain a gentle infusion - instead of an extraction of tannin and colour from the grapes. - After that, Terroir al Límit Històric 2021 was aged for 8 months in the tanks.

We suggest that you aerate this gentle Priorat red wine some time before you drink it.

Production below 25,000 bottles.

Appearance

The wine Terroir al Límit Históric is medium ruby with some reddish reflections.

Nose

Lively and relaxed, this blend of old-vines Grenache and Carignan smells of bilberries and ripe cherries, with a note of Mediterranean herbs and a dim mineral background.

Palate

Nimble, fluid and fresh, with an excellent acidity and good definition. This wine of bodega Terroir al Límit is full of wild berries, with hints of rhubarb, rosemary and wildflowers. Long finish.

Our personal opinion

Dominik Huber has done it again. Terroir al Límit Històric 2021 proves that "drinkability" and "Priorat wines" are two perfectly compatible notions.
