Red Wine Tocat i Posat 2015

Made from a blend of Grenache and Carignan coming from 60 to 100-year-old vines grown in slate soils, Tocat i Posat is a remarkable Spanish red wine produced in the region of L'Empordà, near the Catalan-French border.
The grapes were picked up by hand and selected both in the vineyard and in the cellar. Alcoholic fermentation and maceration took place in stainless steel tanks.
After that, Tocat i Posat 2015 completed malolactic fermentation and was aged for 12 months in French oak barrels from Allier.
Finally, this Crianza red wine produced jointly by the Coca i Fitó and the Roig Parals wineries was fined with egg whites and bottled.
Prior to its release, this red wine from Empordà was aged for a further 6 months in the cellar.
Decant 1 hour before drinking.

Nose | This blend of Carignan and Grenache has the character and drama that defines the Empordà wines. Ripe blackcurrants and blueberries, a fleck of cocoa, spices and blue flowers, and a deep, resounding mineral background nuanced by some balsamic notions. |
Palate | Bold and complex, this wine of the Coca i Fitó winery has a lot to offer. Delicately spicy and enticingly mineral, with a peculiar dryness and a Mediterranean character which shows in the notes of garrigue and underbrush. Crisp acidity and crunchy tannins. Long finish with a slightly bitter touch. |
Our personal opinion | Ambitious, but not pretentious, Tocat i Posat 2015 will pair wonderfully with hearty meat dishes. |
