The whisky Tomatin 12 Single Malt is produced in the Highlands by Tomatin distillery, the highest distillery in Scotland, situated in the village of the same name at 315 metres of altitude, on the eastern side of the Monadhliath Mountains.
The entry-level Single Malt Whisky of the distillery, it was launched onto the market in 2004. After a traditional distillation in copper stills, it was aged for 12 years in Bourbon barrels. Then it was finished in Sherry casks for 6 to 9 months. It was bottled at 43% ABV.
Golden-coloured and visually appealing, Tomatin 12 Single Malt carries aromas of fine wood, dry fruit and old Sherry. The palate is suave, balanced and complex, with an oily texture and notes of malted cereal, ripe apples, ripe pears, spices and candied sugar.
Drink neat or on the rocks. Either way, this is a fantastic Scotch whisky.
