Produced by the Tomatin distillery in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, the whisky Tomatin 14 Years Old Port Casks is a noteworthy addition to Tomatin’s collection.
Introduced in 2014, this Single Malt Whisky is made from unpeated malt, slowly fermented and then distilled twice in copper stills. After that, this Scotch whisky matured for 14 years in ex Bourbon oak casks and in specially selected Port Wine barrels, that impart distinctive aromatic qualities and a vinous character.
The whisky Tomatin 14 Years Old Port Casks is deep gold with some amberish reflections. This 14 years old whisky is powerful and beguiling on the nose, with forest berries and red grapes, underpinned by vainilla, cinnamon and white pepper. On the palate, this Single Malt Whisky is well-rounded and smooth, suggesting toasted almonds and hazelnuts, dark chocolate, fine wood and puff pastry, ending with a berryish and sweet note.
