Produced by bodega Torelló, a founding member of the Corpinnat association of producers, the sparkling wine Torelló Finca Can Martí Brut is entirely sourced from the Can Martí estate, a piece of land located in Gelida, Alt Penedès, which has belonged to the Torelló family since the XIVth century.
This blended Spanish sparkling wine is produced from 38% Xarel·lo, 32% Chardonnay, 17% Macabeo and 13% Parellada, all grown in clay-limestone soils and farmed following certified organic procedures.
The harvest season of the 2018 vintage, the rainiest year in decades, went from mid August to September. Sorted on site, each grape variety was separately fermented in stainless steel tanks. Then this Corpinnat organic sparkling wine was blended and went through secondary fermentation in the bottle.
Finally, the sparkling wine Torelló Finca Can Martí Brut 2018 was aged for 40 months minimum, after which it was disgorged on the date printed on the back label.
This Corpinnat brut from Penedès will be an excellent choice for accompanying a multi-course meal.
Appearance | The sparkling wine Torelló Finca Can Martí Brut is straw-coloured with some steely reflections. |

Nose | Rather complex, this blend of Xarel·lo, Chardonnay, Macabeo and Parellada suggests candied citrus peel and jasmine, with hints of fennel, fine lees, lemon verbena and honeysuckle, underpinned by some ripe white fruit and rosemary honey. |
Palate | This sparkling wine of the Torelló winery is textured and inviting, with good focus and tiny, palate- caressing bubbles. A tapering acidity carries the fruit, with some bitter overtones and a long aftertaste reminiscent of English custard and white flowers. |
Our personal opinion | The sparkling wine Torelló Finca Can Martí Brut 2018 highlights the impeccable craftmanship of bodega Torelló, one of Spain’s best sparkling wine producers. |
