Availability: In stock
This premium Spanish red wine is one of the absolute classics of La Rioja. Indeed, Torre Muga embodies the best qualities of Spain's most important wine region.
The wine is produced by Bodegas Muga, one of the very few wineries in the region that still builds the oak barrels it uses in its own cooperage.
It is made from Tempranillo, Mazuelo and Graciano. These grapes constitute the DNA of classic Rioja.
After a meticulous harvest, they were destemmed and macerated for 3 weeks in oak vats with indigenous yeasts and no temperature control.
After that, Torre Muga 2019 was aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels.
Finally, this reserva red wine was clarified with egg whites and aged for some months in the bottle before its release.
Decant this Rioja red wine a minimum of 1 hour before drinking.
Appearance | The red wine Torre Muga is medium purple with a reddish rim. |

Nose | An enchanting, superbly expressive blend of Tempranillo, Mazuelo and Graciano. Blackberry preserve, cocoa, vanilla and liquorice, combined with aromas of wild herbs, toast, Havanna cigars, cedar, clove, cinnamon and leather. Complex and everchanging. |
Palate | Wow! This red wine from Bodegas Muga is textured and refined. Pure notes of red and black fruit, nicely balanced with remembrances of herbs, flowers, dry earth and spices. Crisp, tense acidity, smooth tannins and extremely long finish with some herbal and toasted remembrances. |
Our personal opinion | A wine which goes from strength to strength, Torre Muga 2019 is simply marvelous. Pair with game dishes, red meat or a high-quality white fish, such as a sea bass. |
