Red Wine Trasnocho 2015
Reserva red wine from La Rioja. Blend of Tempranillo, Graciano, Viura and Malvasía aged for 20 months in new oak barrels.
Availability: In stock
The production of the high-end Rioja red wine Trasnocho begins with a selection of the best grapes. The proportion is 90% Tempranillo, 5% Graciano, and 5% Malvasía & Viura, coming from the very best vineyards of the prestigious Remírez de Ganuza winery.
Selected both in the vineyard and in the cellar, all of the grapes come from low-yielding, over 60-year-old vines.
This exceptional Spanish red wine from La Rioja was first cold-macerated at a temperature of 4-6ºC for 24 hours in specially designed tanks. After that, the grapes were destemmed and fermented in stainless steel tanks and French oak vats.
Then this reserva red wine was transferred into 90% new French oak and 10% American oak barrels, where it completed a 20-month ageing process.
We suggest that you decant Trasnocho 2015 1 hour before drinking.
This is a small production, one-of-a-kind Rioja red wine.
Appearance | The red wine Trasnocho is medium purple with a ruby rim. |
---|---|
Nose | Extremely rich display of aromas. This Tempranillo nuanced with Graciano, Viura and Malvasía conveys remembrances of cassis, blackcurrants and blackberries, with remembrances of Eastern spices and hints of underbrush, flowers and dry earth. |
Palate | Expressive and creamy, with wonderfully balanced notions of fruit and spices, intertwined with suggestions of withered leaves, sweet spices, pipe tobacco, undergrowth and flowers. This red wine from bodega Remírez de Ganuza has some silky tannins, a rock-solid acidity and a very long, memorable finish. |
Our personal opinion | The exceptional Trasnocho 2015 is a wine that aims high, and is able to live up to its ambitions. |
