Red Wine Triga 2020
Availability: In stock
Made from vines 40 to 100 years old, the wine Triga is a remarkable Spanish red wine produced by Bodegas Volver in the town of Pinoso, DO Alicante.
A blend of 85% Monastrell vines and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, the vineyards are at 600 to 750 metres above sea level. The soils are filled with fossils and covered by a thick layer of limestone.
Produced by Rafael Cañizares, this wine was originally conceived by the prestigious Australian oenologist Chris Ringland.
The grapes were carefully harvested and meticulously crafted. Each plot was separately vinified. Malolactic fermentation took place in French oak barrels, where this red wine from Alicante was then aged for 20 months.
Once the ageing process was completed, the wine Triga 2020 was blended and aged for a further months in the cellar in order to fully round it.
Decant this Reserva red wine at least 1 hour before you drink it.
Appearance | The red wine Triga is deep purple with a violet rim. |

Nose | The aromatic complexity of this blend of Monastrell and Cabernet Sauvignon, though it still needs time to fully unfurl, is already astounding. Pristine fruit, red and black fruit in all their glory, along with some spicy touches some nuances of flowers and balsam. The background insinuates some notes of toast, tobacco and liquorice. There are also some hints of aromatic herbs and vegetables. |
Palate | Elegant, intense and age-worthy, this red wine from Bodegas Volver has a bold entrance that fills the mouth with notes of jammy fruit, with delicate strokes of pepper and spices which evolve into hints of smoke, liquorice, cocoa, clove and balsam, all of which make for a quite impressive parade. Impeccable acidity, and long, fruity finish with a deep mineral remembrance. |
Our personal opinion | A great Mediterranean red with a touch of Aussie exuberance, the wine Triga 2020 is as bold as it is deep. |
