Coming from a single parcel sitting at 900 metres of altitude, near the village of La Horra, Burgos, Trus Pico de Luyas is a varietal Spanish red wine from DO Ribera del Duero produced by Bodega Trus.
It is produced solely from Tinto Fino or Tempranillo grapes sourced from vines over 30 years old, planted in clay-limestone and limestone soils close to the parent rock.
Hand-harvested and selected first on site, the grapes were selected again on arriving at the cellar and cooled at 10ºC, after which they went into stainless steel tanks by gravity and fermented with daily punch-downs.
Then this red wine from Ribera del Duero was transferred into new French oak barrels, where it went through malolactic fermentation with daily lees-stirrings.
Finally, the red wine Trus Pico de Luyas 2019 was aged for 16 months in French oak barrels with no rackings. It was bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Aerate this Crianza red wine at least 40 minutes before drinking.
