Produced by world-class winemaker Raúl Pérez, the wine Ultreia Mencía showcases the many charms of the Mencía variety.
This varietal Spanish red wine was sourced from vineyards with slate soils located in Ponferrada, DO Bierzo.
Picked by hand between late August and early September, the grapes were whole-bunch fermented in open oak vats with no temperature control, and subsequently macerated for a long period of time (60+ days).
After that, the wine Ultreia Mencía 2021 was aged for 12 months in 2nd year French oak barrels. The wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Terroir-bound and elegant, this Crianza red wine shows again the magic touch of Raúl Pérez, its renowned creator.

| Nose | This varietal Mencía opens with some forest-floor remembrances, slowly evolving into wild berries, flowers and citrus, with some mineral remembrances and dim spicy notes. |
