Vermouth Martínez Lacuesta Reserva
Availability: In stock
The Vermouth Martínez Lacuesta Reserva is a made from a base of an Airén white wine macerated with the "conzia". This is a mixture of 24 aromatic herbs and burnt sugar (caramel, in other words) that give this Spanish vermouth its characteristic amber colour.
Produced by bodega Martínez Lacuesta in Haro, the wine capital of La Rioja, this white vermouth was crafted following traditional methods. Particular attention was given to the oak ageing process.
More specifically, this Vermouth Martínez Lacuesta Reserva was first aged for 3 years in American oak barrels, during which period the wine was infused with the conzia. Once that process was completed, it was aged for a further 7 months in French oak barrels from Allier.
The result is an intense, aromatically complex vermouth from La Rioja, which combines sweet, bitter and toasted nuances in an appealing fashion.
