Red Wine Vetus 2020
Availability: In stock
The best-known Spanish red wine from Bodega Vetus, the wine Vetus is born in the heart of DO Toro.
The 2020 vintage of this red wine from Toro is made from Tinta de Toro and a small portion of Grenache, both sourced from the 20-hectare vineyard with sandy soils that surrounds the winemaking facility, located near Villabuena del Puente (Zamora), at 700 metres above sea level.
Harvested by hand, after a meticulous selection the grape bunches were destemmed, gently crushed and fermented in stainless steel tanks.
After that, the wine Vetus 2020 went through malolactic fermentation in the tanks and was aged for 13 months in 33% new French oak barrels. The wine was not clarified before being bottled in July 2022.
Decant this Crianza red wine 30 minutes before drinking.
11,200 bottles produced.
Appearance | The red wine Vetus is medium purple with a garnet rim and some violet tinges. |

Nose | The nose of this blend of Tinta de Toro and Grenache brings aromas of blueberries, damascena cherries and blackcurrants over a vegetal and herbal background. There are some overtones of liquorice, coffee, toast, balsam, leather and aniseed. |
Palate | Pleasant and well-structured, this wine of Bodegas Vetus is ripe, hedonistic and fresh, with plush tannins and a crisp acidity. Long finish with an aftertaste of liquorice, red berries, coffee and liquorice. |
Our personal opinion | A modern style Toro, the wine Vetus 2020 delivers sheer drinking pleasure. |
