As the name indicates, Viña Alberdi Crianza Magnum is the 1.5 litres format of one of the best-known wines from bodega La Rioja Alta.
A varietal Tempranillo, this Spanish red wine is produced from estate-owned vineyards located in the villages of Rodezno and Labastida, between 500 and 600 metres above sea level. Grown in clay-limestone soils, the vines are over 30 years old.
Picked by hand, the grapes were destemmed, lightly crushed and transferred into stainless steel tanks. After completing alcoholic and malolactic fermentations, this Crianza red wine was transferred into American oak barrels built in the cooperage of the winery, and aged for a period of 24 months.
The first 12 months Viña Alberdi Crianza 2018 Magnum was aged in new oak barrels. The last 12 months, the wine matured in 4th year barrels. Overall, it was racked 4 times.
It is advisable to aerate this Rioja Crianza 30-40 minutes before drinking.
