Produced by the Volcán de mi Tierra distillery, a branch of the French luxury conglomerate Louis Vitton Moët Hennessy, the premium tequila Volcán de mi Tierra Añejo Cristalino is made from blue agave weber plants grown in Altos and Valles, the two main agave growing regions in the Jalisco highlands. Another feature of this tequila from México is that it is made from a blend of añejo and extra-añejo tequilas.
After a meticulous process of fermentation and distillation, the tequila añejo was aged for 1 year in American oak barrels, and the tequila extra-añejo was aged in barrels for 3 years. Both components were clarified with activated charcoal before making the final blend, a process that removed the dark amber tones and gave this tequila from Jalisco its crystalline appearance.
Straw-coloured, the tequila Volcán de mi Tierra Añejo Cristalino has a complex aromatic profile, reminiscent of bitter chocolate, marzipan, cooked agave, mint, fudge and vanilla. The palate of this blended tequila is smooth, balanced and very persistent, with remembrances of coco, honey and fine tobacco.
