Graham's

Graham's

A famed producer of fine Porte.

Founded in 1820 by William and John Graham, the Graham’s winery quickly became famous for the quality of its Port wines, which quickly made them one of the of the preferred beverages of the English leisure class in the heyday of the British Empire.

In the late XIXth century, the Scottish entrepreneur Andrew Symington arrived in Port and began a family collaboration with the Graham family that continues to this day. In 1970, his grandsons bought the Graham’s winery, which nowadays is a branch of the prestigious Symington Family Estates group.

The Graham’s winery sources its grapes from four vineyards with distinctive characteristics in the Porto area: Quinta dos Malvedos, Quinta do Tua, Quinta da Via Velha and Quinta do Valhe de Malhadas. The grapes are processed at the Quinta dos Malvedos, where they are meticulously selected, destemmed and fermented. After that, the Port wines by Graham’s are fortified and stored in large barrels over the winter.

After making the final blend, the wines are aged in the Graham’s Lodge in the village of Vila Nova da Gaia. The Vintage Ports are aged for around 18 months in wooden vats. The Tawny Ports go through a process of controlled oxidation in seasoned oak casks.
