Hakushu
One of the world’s highest distilleries.
A brand of the well-known Suntory group, the Hakushu distillery is located in the Minami Alps region, a mountainous area of unspoiled beauty in south Honshu, the main island of the Japanese archipelago. The facilities sit at over 700 metres above sea level, amidst dense forests. Besides the uncontaminated atmosphere, the Hakushu area is famous for having one the purest and softest waters in all of Japan, which accounts for the particularly rich, gentle flavour of the Hakushu whisky.
Produced with the level of care and attention to detail that sets Japanese craftmanship apart from the rest, the Single Malt Whisky collection of the Hakushu distillery matures in French and American oak barrels for 12, 18 o 25 years. The majestic landscape surrounding the winery imparts to the Hakushu whisky a very particular personality, quite unlike any other whisky, whether from Japan or abroad. Gently herbal, magically fresh and delicately peated, with a trademark citrusy note, this Japanese whisky is one of the world’s great distillates.
