Agrícola Falset-Marçà
The most important wine cooperative in Montsant, Agrícola Falset-Marçà produces characterful wines, sweet wines and vermouths. All of them have earned widespread international praise.
The company is known for being located in a wonderful building designed by Cèsar Martinell, a disciple of the great Antoni Gaudí. A wonderful example on how to conceive an aesthetically appealing and fully functional building with limited means, its magnificent parabolic arches and its huge oak vats are an outstanding tribute to the noble winemaking tradition of the Montsant region.
Founded in 1919, Agrícola Falset-Marçà has nowadays more than 350 partners, which together own 220 hectares of vineyards from which an average quantity of 650,000 bottles are produced every year. Among them there is the famous Vermut de Falset, which is still produced macerating the wine with the herbs in the old wooden tanks in order to maintain its unique vintage character. Besides that, the company produces a series of excellent wines under the name Ètim, including some delicious sweet and rancio wines.
