Bodegas El Nido

Bodegas El Nido

The Bodegas El Nido winery has managed to extract the maximum expression from their Monastrell grapes of Jumilla in an elegant and flavorful manner which has attracted world wide prestige.

The Bodegas El Nido winery is the venture of the Juan Gil family and the Australian winemaker Chris Ringland in the Jumilla DO. Located in the Aragona Valley, it has 44 hectares in the highest areas where they grow Monastrell from old vines, most of them centuries old, and Cabernet Sauvignon. All the estates face north or northeast and are characterized by their stony and very limestone soils.

This Spanish winery, Bodegas El Nido, only make two wines: Clío and El Nido, aged in barrels for about 22-24 months and very limited productions. They are intense, extremely elegant, velvety and perfectly balanced wines. And with a very long persistence.

In just over a decade, the wines of Bodegas El Nido have achieved international recognition, both by the public and by critics.

The deep character of Monastrell is reflected in these already great Spanish wines.
