The history of Bodegas y Viñedos García Figuero began when Milagros Figuero and José Ma García were given a vineyard as a wedding present. Some years later, in 2001, the couple decided to start a company to produce quality wines in Ribera del Duero. Nowadays, this family winery is still run by the founding couple, with the aid of their three sons, Carlos, Henar and Antonio.

The red wines of Bodegas García Figuero are produced from 50 parcels of vineyards over 65 years of age. Planted exclusively with Tempranillo, the flagship variety of the region, each parcel is individually vinified according to its specific needs.

Located in La Horra, the facilities of Bodegas y Viñedos García Figuero were designed to process the fruit through gravity, using cutting-edge technology to obtain the utmost expression from the grapes. The set of buildings was conceived by Esther Regidor, whose technical know-how and deep understanding of the modern requirements of wine production proved invaluable. It is worth mentioning that this winery from Ribera del Duero has over 1,000 French and American oak barrels housed in an underground cellar specifically designed to age the wines.

The first of the Tinto Figuero red wines produced by the company was Tinto Figuero 2001, aged for 4 months in oak barrels. The wine was an immediate critical and commercial success, a fact that quickly established the reputation of Bodegas y Viñedos García Figuero as a quality winery.
