Cal Batllet

Founded in 2000, bodega Cal Batllet is located in Gratallops, in the heart of DOQ Priorat. Headed by Marc Ripoll Sans, the winery is dedicated to preserving the local Priorat grapes and the rich family legacy, which consists of ten parcels of mostly old vineyards planted in Gratallops and Torroja del Priorat.

Bodega Cal Batllet grows mainly the traditional red varieties Carignan – with several parcels of centenary vines – and Grenache, as well as a small extension of international varieties. As regards white grape varieties, it is worth mentioning that the Call Batllet winery pioneered the recovery of Escanyavella, a white grape indigenous to Priorat with real potential for producing quality wines, from which it makes the only varietal white wine currently available on the market.

Besides the Escanyavella white wine, the wine catalogue of Celler Cal Batllet is comprised of two entry- level reds and two small-batch varietal Carignan wines.
