Crivellé i Valls

The Celler Crivellé i Valls winery is a family project dedicated to the production of quality wines in DOQ Priorat. The history of the family, whose ancestors settled in Priorat five generations ago, is inextricably intertwined with the history of the region itself.

The wines of bodega Celler Crivellé i Valls are produced only from estate grown grapes, sourced from Mas d’en Gil, the main vineyard, situated in La Morera del Montsant, and from some plots situated in Poboleda. The winery grows the traditional red varieties Grenache and Carignan, as well as some Syrah and a small extension of White Grenache. The vines are typically planted on the steep slate (llicorella) slopes, some up to 40%, which give the Priorat region its unique character, and also in vineyards situated in flatter areas composed of silty soils. Because of their orientation, the vines are exposed to the Garbinada, a marine breeze coming from the southeast which slows the ripening process of the grapes and results in more balanced and fresher wines.

The headquarter of the Celler Crivellé i Valls winery is located in the village of Poboleda, on the margins of the Siurana river. Both the technical facilities and the ageing room are situated in the cellar of an old country house, which provides excellent conditions of temperature and humidity and has been adapted to meet the requirements of modern wine production. The product range of the winery currently consists of two red wines, a white wine and a late harvest sweet wine. The production is very limited.
