Félix Lorenzo Cachazo
The Bodegas Félix Lorenzo Cachazo is a family winery that presents fresh wines which are well-representative of the Rueda DO of Spain.
The founder of this winery, Félix Lorenzo Cachazo, was also one of the founders of the DO Rueda of Spain. To this day, Mr. Cachazo still leads this family winery with traditional vinification techniques and over 60 years-old of experience in the industry. The ancient wine cellars underneath this modern winery have been recovered with a new brick finish to accommodate the modern vinification techniques of this winery.
The vineyards of the Félix Lorenzo Cachazo winery have century-old grapevines which they use to cultivate the Verdejo grapes fpr their world renowned white wines. One of these white wines is Gran Cardiel Verdejo Félix Lorenzo Cachazo, which is a wine crafted from a coupage of half Verdejo and half Viura grapes, and fermented in its lees for three months. This is a pale greenish-yellow colored white wine with fragrant and intense aromatics of Verdejo and Viura grapes. This wine has an elegant and fruity palate with some residual effervescence which lends it grand freshness.
The Bodegas Félix Lorenzo Cachazo vineyards also cultivate Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, in addition to Verdejo and Viura (Macabeo).
