Hammeken Cellars
The wines of Hammeken Cellars reinterpret the Spanish wine heritage through a modern perspective.
After working in the wine trade for several years in different countries, Nicolas Hammeken arrived in Spain in the late XXth century with the aim of modernizing the Spanish wine scene. Upon his arrival, Mr. Hammeken and his winemaking team immediately set out to explore Spain’s amazingly diverse wine landscape in order to find the lands best suited to their objective. That journey of discovery never ended, and it continues to this very day.
In 2001, the Hammeken Cellars winery released its first wine, Montgó. From then on, the company went on to produce wine in several designations of origin across Spain, like Castilla, Jumilla, Rías Baixas, Almansa, Manchuela and Priorat. The Hammeken Cellars wines are straightforward and approachable, showing great drinkability and a well-defined local character. Over the last years, the company has increasingly focused on the production of organic wines.
