L'Antic Magatzem

L'Antic Magatzem

The project of Adrià Domènech, a young winemaker with deep family roots in Priorat.

Founded in 2022, the L’Antic Magatzem winery is the personal project of Adrià Domènech Simó, a young winemaker from Porrera, Priorat. The descendent of two families of farm workers and grape growers whose roots in the region go back many generations, Mr. Domènech’s sees his project as a way to honour the family heritage and also as an expression of his love of the land.

The winemaking facility of L’Antic Magatzem is located in the house belonging to the mother’s side of the family, called Cal Simó or L’Antic Magatzem, previously used as a place for selling oil, dry fruit and wine. The house belonging to the father’s side of the family is known as Cal Pagès, a name which Adrià pays homage to in his most exclusive an sought-after wine, a single vineyard centenary Carignan.

All of the wines of L’Antic Magatzem are estate grown and sourced from two lieu dits: Les Sentius and El Bosc. The main red varieties are Grenache and Carignan, followed by Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. As for white varieties, White Grenache is the most important one. The grapes are vinified in stainless steel tanks and aged in oak barrels and ceramic amphorae.

Bodega L’Antic Magatzem currently produces three red wines, one white wine and a very old rancio.
