Rosario Vera

Rosario Vera

This winery from La Rioja is a brand of Gil Family Estates.

Located in Laguardia (Álava), not far from the Sierra Cantabria, DOCa Rioja, bodega Rosario Vera is a branch of Gil Family Estates, one of Spain’s best-known wine groups. An homage to the co-founder of the company, which was also the mother of Mr. Juan Gil, the winery is the fulfillment of the latter’s long- held dream of producing wine in one of the world’s top wine regions.

Situated in Rioja Alavesa area and composed of clay-limestone soils, the vineyards of the Rosario Vera winery are 15 to 60 years old. The main variety is Tempranillo, which defines the identity of the region.

The wines are produced following traditional methods. The entry-level wine, entirely vinified in stainless steel tanks, is called Honoro Vera Rioja. The red wine Amona is produced with the carbonic maceration technique. The flagship wine, aged in French oak barrels, is appropriately called Rosario Vera.
