Sandra Doix

The wine project of a Priorat-born rising star winemaker.

Bodega Sandra Doix is the personal project of 6th-generation Priorat native Sandra Doix, who did stints in several wineries across the world before becoming the chief oenologist of the Mas Doix winery, a position she abandoned in 2019 to pursue her lifelong dream.

The vineyards of bodega Sandra Doix are mostly planted with the traditional red varieties Grenache and Carignan, complemented with some Syrah. The main white varieties are White Grenache and Macabeo. There is also a small plot of Pedro Ximénez, from which Sandra makes a stunningly original white wine.

Located near the village of Poboleda, in the freshest area of Priorat, some of the parcels are truly exceptional, like Paratge Les Salanques, a 2.5-hectare lieu dit with slate soils that was planted in 1902, right after the phylloxera devastation. The top-shelf red wines of Sandra Doix are sourced from that centenary vineyard.

The Sandra Doix winery markets two product levels: the mid-range Popul, composed of the regional wines, and the high-end MarLa, which includes the village and paratge wines. Still in a growing phase, the overall yearly production is estimated to reach 35,000 bottles in the near future.
